The Men in Black 3 trailer shows a hybrid of sci-fi and comedy. The film shows elements of sci-fi with clips of futuristic weapons, new technologies, aliens and time travel. The new technologies that are shown in this trailer show a memory eraser and a stop watch which he uses to travel back in time. Time travel is typical is some sci-fi movies. The aliens are common in most sci-fi movies and of the 'Men in Black' films as they are both agents who defend the galaxy from alien threats. (Alien threats are also common in sci-fi movies) The time travel stop watch is used to travel back in time for 'Agent J' to stop a alien from assassinating his partner 'Agent K', in the trailer this shows agent 'J' jumping off a building with the stop watch set to the year 1969. The comedy side of the trailer shows familiar gags from the Men in Black films like the use of the neutraliser (memory eraser) which is used on people if they have just seen a alien. The trailer ends with agent 'J' waking up in agent 'K's office. Agent J: "K?" Agent K: How do you know my name?" showing he has traveled back in time.
